The Visual Devices Program is intended for persons covered by the Québec Health Insurance Plan who have a visual impairment. These persons may have low vision or may be functionally blind.
You have to present 2 identity documents, including one with a photo, to register with the Health Insurance Plan or renew your card.
RAMQ pays for services covered by the Health Insurance Plan when rendered to insured persons (medical, optometric, dental or pharmaceutical services).
Your photo must meet RAMQ specifications for it to be accepted for your Health Insurance Card. Some people are exempt to provide their photo or their signature.
The Medical Services Program is a universal program, which means that anyone insured by the Health Insurance Plan is eligible.
You can give your consent to organ donation through the Registre des consentements or by a signed sticker affix on the back of your Health Insurance Card
Québec has concluded agreements with certain countries, thereby making it easier to access health insurance during a temporary stay or following a permanent departure.
