Coming into force of new provisions of the Charter of the French Language

June 2, 2023 – New provisions of the Charter of the French Language come into force on June 1, 2023. According to the general principle of the Charter, all our written and oral communications with the public must be in French only, subject to certain exceptions.

Persons covered by the exceptions

  • Persons declared eligible to receive their education in English

  • Indigenous persons

  • Immigrants (for 6 months only)

  • Persons who were corresponding only in English with RAMQ before May 13, 2021

If you wish to communicate with us in a language other than French, you must attest in good faith that you belong to one of these groups.

Consequences for the website

Certain pages or sections of our website must be in French only, without the possibility of translation. These include the Careers section and content relating to the operation and administrative structure.
