Direct deposit

This service allows you to obtain a reimbursement by direct deposit into your account. You can also change or delete your bank details.

Registration

You must register in the Services section of the Québec Health Booklet. You will need to log in using the Government Authentication Service.

For the moment, RAMQ direct deposit is only available for the following 2 programs:

  • Eyeglasses and contact lenses for children (See Better to Succeed)
  • Appliances for ostomates

Conditions of registration

  • Have a Government Authentication Service account to access the Québec Health Booklet
  • Have an account at a financial institution located in Canada
  • Have an account in your name (it can be a joint account, as long as your name appears among the account holders)
  • Provide an email address to receive notifications of direct deposits
  • Agree not to receive any proof of reimbursement by mail (details of reimbursements and notices of decision will be available electronically only, in the Québec Health Booklet)

Delivery time for a reimbursement

You will receive the amount to which you are entitled directly into your account no later than 3 weeks after the processing of your application. Note that the time required to analyze applications varies depending on the program.

If you are covered by the Ostomy Appliances Program, you will receive the amount due to you annually (for a permanent ostomy) or per 6-month period (for a temporary ostomy) from the reference date entered in your file.

Report a late or unexpected payment

If you have not received your direct deposit payment, there may have been an error in the information provided on your account. In this case, you should receive a cheque in the mail no later than 6 weeks after your application has been processed, if the amount has not been deposited in another account.

Contact us if you:

  • Still have not received your reimbursement 6 weeks after your application was processed or after the reference date entered in your file (ostomates)
  • Received an unexpected payment in your account

Deregister

Here is how to deregister from direct deposit:

  1. Go to the Services section of the Québec Health Booklet
  2. Click on Registration for RAMQ direct deposit and update
  3. Click on Delete and confirm

This way, your bank details will be deleted from your health booklet. You will receive your reimbursements by cheque to the address on your RAMQ file. To check that your address is up to date, go to the Profile section of your health booklet.
