Warning – Fraudulent Calls

Several persons have received fraudulent calls impersonating RAMQ. If you do not have a pending request with us or if the call seems suspicious, do not provide any personal information. Make a note of the agent’s name, end the conversation and call us. To find out more, refer to Our communication practices webpage.

Person under age 18 or student age 18 to 25 who is:

studying full time in an educational institution at the secondary-, college- or university level
spouseless
living with their parents, and
not eligible for a private plan on their own

Persons age 18 or over with a functional impairment also meet the definition of a child. They may continue being covered under their parents’ plan if they are:

spouseless
suffering from a functional impairment that occurred before they turned 18, within the meaning or the Regulation respecting the basic prescription drug insurance plan
living with their parents or tutor
not receiving benefits under a financial assistance program with claim slips (carnet de réclamation)
not eligible for a private plan
