  2. Insurance coverage status
    • Covered: This drug is covered under the Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan. Certain conditions may apply.
    • Exceptional medication: The Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan covers such drugs under certain conditions.
  3. Active ingredient: Active substance in the drug that has a therapeutic effect such as acetaminophen and ibuprofen.
  4. Manufacturer: Business that manufactures or distributes the drug.
  5. Strength: Concentration of the active ingredient contained in a given drug.
  6. Dosage form: Pharmaceutical form of the drug (tablet, capsule, syrup or suppository, for example).
  7. DIN: Drug identification number issued by Health Canada. The number may also be a fictitious code issued by RAMQ if Health Canada has not given the drug a DIN.
