Disagree with a decision rendered?

If you disagree with a decision rendered by the Régie de l'assurance maladie, you may apply for a review.

You have six months, from the date the Régie's letter of decision is deposited in your mailbox or handed to you in person, to apply for a review of your file.

To apply for a review, you must:

  • provide the Régie with a written explanation of why you believe the decision must be reviewed;
  • submit any supporting documents that may enable the Régie to re-evaluate your file.

The Régie will then re-examine the situation again.

Review of a decision concerning eligibility for the Health Insurance Plan

You may apply for a review of a decision regarding your eligibility for the Health Insurance Plan. To do so, fill out the form entitled Application for Review PDF document or write a letter of request and send it to the Régie .

Review of a decision concerning services covered outside Québec

If the Régie has denied you a reimbursement, or if you disagree with the amount of a reimbursement the Régie has issued for services received outside Québec, you may apply for a review. However, before applying, be sure to check what the Health Insurance Plan covers outside Québec.

If you requested that the Régie cover a service not available in Québec and the Régie has denied such authorization, you may apply for a review in this case as well.

Review of a decision concerning assistive devices or financial assistance

If you disagree with a decision rendered by the Régie concerning assistive devices or financial assistance, you may apply for a review of your file. The devices that compensate for physical deficiencies, hearing devices and visual devices programs give access to assistive devices, while the ostomy appliances, external breastforms and ocular prostheses programs offer financial assistance.

For any of the above reasons, send your written application to the following address:

Québec (Québec)  G1K 7T3
