Changes to the coverage of medically assisted procreation services

November 15, 2021 – New provisions expand coverage for medically assisted procreation services. As of November 15, 2021, in vitro fertilization and other services will be added to those already insured.

Medically assisted procreation is a medical solution for persons who are unable to conceive a child. Eligibility criteria aim to provide a modern and sustainable program, which:

  • Takes into account new conjugal and family realities.
  • Limits obstetrical risks for women receiving treatment.
  • Limits neonatal risks for children born from these services.
