What is RSS?
RSS (Rich Site Summary) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. RSS keeps you updated by retrieving the latest content from your favourite websites. In this way, you can access the Régie's latest events, press releases or reports.
How to use RSS feeds?
The updated information in a website is sent to a RSS feed reader, which gathers in one location all the content in which you're interested. The reader is similar to a file folder that collects updates of the feeds you have chosen.
You can get a RSS feed reader in several ways:
- by using a recent web browser;
- by finding a news aggregator on the Internet, many of which are available free of charge. Just do a search with "RSS aggregator" or "news reader;
- by using an RSS web module such as Google or Yahoo!
If you use Windows Vista or the Office 2007 suite, you can read RSS feeds in Outlook. For Mac OS X users, simply access them through Safari or Mail.
How to subscribe to RSS feeds?
To receive one or several RSS feeds, copy the link for the feed you want and paste it in the appropriate field of your RSS reader. The feed should then appear in the reader's list of subscriptions.
