Amendments to AREQ members' prescription drug insurance coverage
A judgment rendered by the Superior Court on February 28, 2011 has resulted in amendments to the prescription drug insurance coverage provided to members of the Association des retraitées et retraités de l'éducation et des autres services publics du Québec (AREQ).
AREQ members
Since March 31, 2011, the SSQ insurance company no longer offers its basic prescription drug insurance plan to AREQ members, who will have to register for the Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan if they no longer have access to a private plan.
The Régie has implemented a transitional measure to maintain, exceptionally and for a limited period, coverage of prescription drugs requiring prior authorization.
