By consulting the 2009-2013 Strategic Plan, the public can learn about the policies that the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ) plans to pursue in addressing the challenges it faces. RAMQ wishes to be a dynamic partner in the management and development of the Québec healthcare system and, accordingly, it has embraced six objectives to be attained between now and 2013.
In its new strategic plan, RAMQ has emphasized accessibility, timeliness and security in its provision of services. It also seeks to improve the Health Insurance Card, raise awareness about prescription drug insurance and the obligations that go with it, speed up the application of changes made to the remuneration agreements with health professionals and review management of the programs entrusted to it by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux.
Through its involvement in the implementation of Dossier de santé du Québec (Québec medical record), RAMQ also aims to provide authorized healthcare professionals with access to pertinent clinical information. At the same time, by drawing on its expertise, it will ensure secure identification of the healthcare providers who access the information.
Since human resources are paramount to attaining organizational performance and providing quality services, RAMQ has undertaken to provide its employees with a workplace environment where they feel valued and are motivated to work toward common objectives. Ensuring the continuity and quality of services while contending with demographic changes and a workforce reduction also remains among its priorities.
